Chickens

This is where you can find chickens for sale. There are a variety of different filter options on the left that allow you to narrow down the chickens. On the top right you can sort the results by price, name, newest, number of races ran, and other criteria. Clicking on any chicken will open that chicken's details page, where you can learn more about it.

To purchase a chicken, click the Buy Now button under the chicken.

If you see this icon next to a chicken, then that means it is open to offers. So you can send an offer to that user, via the chicken's details page.

Wearables

This will be the next market we add, allowing you to trade the wearables you've won through tournaments and events.

Selling A Chicken

If you have a chicken you want to sell, you need to list it for sale. You can do this via the chicken's details page, and clicking List.

Listing Types

On the listing page, there are three different types of listing you can choose from.

Buy Now (No Offers) - You can set a price for the chicken and it can only be purchased for that price.

Buy Now (Receive Offers) - You can set a price for the chicken, but people are also allowed to send you offers for it.

Offers Only - You list the chicken but do not set a price. People will submit offers for the chicken.

With the offers, you can also set a Minimum Offer, so that nobody can send you an offer below that amount. Any offer that is sent you must approve for the sale to occur.

Once satisfied with your choices, click the List button.

Edit Listing

You can edit your chicken's listing by going to the chicken's details page and clicking the Edit button. You can change the listing type, price, and unlist the chicken from sale.

Offers

In the Marketplace dropdown menu, you can access your Trade Offers. Here you can see all the offers you've made on chickens, as well as those that you have received for your chickens.

With Offers Received you can see how much was offered, for what chicken and who by. You can then either accept or decline the offer.

With Offers Made you can see all your current offers on chickens. From here you can either remove the offer, or edit it.

Fees

Marketplace Fee

Sales Chicken Derby have a 2% fee of the sale. So if you sell a chicken from 0.5 WETH, you get 0.49 WETH, and site gets 0.01 WETH. This goes into a communal fund and is used to fund free races, tournament prizes, and keep the game ticking over.

Gas

To list your chicken, submit an offer, or do most other Markpletace transactions, there are no gas fees.

You will need to pay gas to perform the sale of a chicken. This is paid in MATIC, and how much will vary depending on how busy the traffic is at the time. Some MATIC can be gotten for free via a faucet, such as https://matic.supply/. If you plan to trade frequently, then it would be better to purchase some. You don't need lots, and only a few USDs is enough to see you through.

FAQs

Wallet Approval

When you first use the Marketplace, you may get the following contract request.

This allows us to have the Marketplace function seamlessly. When you buy a chicken, it'll be immediately removed from the owner's wallet and sent to yours. This approval allows us to do this, without needing to send a request to the seller, which would just slow things down as you wait for them to accept it.

Race Winnings

If you list your chicken for sale, then enter it into a race, and your chicken sells before the race starts, you will still get any winnings, not the new owner. This also includes prizes for tournaments.
