To get your first chicken you'll need some MATIC and some WETH.

MATIC is easy and you won't need much, 0.1 is sometimes enough. You can get MATIC for free from faucets (such as https://matic.supply/) or it can be purchased for less than $1 for 1 MATIC. Get some of this first. MATIC is used to cover the transaction fees of buying a chicken.

Next you'll need WETH, which is the currency you'll use to buy chickens and play in Chicken Derby. First, get some ETH (Ethereum), there are various websites such as coinbase.com that offer it.

Now we're going to wrap the ETH to make WETH (Wrapped Ethereum). Go to chickenderby.com and login.

If this is your first time here, you'll be prompted to connect your wallet to the site. Once done, you should see this box at the top. Click the Show button to reveal your ETH and WETH balances.

Click the Double Arrows and the following popup will appear. You want to make sure it is saying Bridge from Ethereum to Polygon. If the red button saying Switch Chain is there, click it. Your wallet will open allowing you to confirm the change.

Wnter the amount you want to send. There are fees each time you send money, so doing few large transfers will minimize those.

Your wallet will open asking you to confirm the transaction. If the confirm button is unavailble it might be because you are sending too much and don't have enough to cover the fees. Just reject and enter a slightly lower amount. Once ready, click Confirm.

You'll get a couple of spinning wheels for a bit. How long will depend on traffic, so be patient. Maybe go make a sandwich or something.

Congratulations, you now have WETH. You can confirm by refreshing the page and looking at your wallet balance in the header.

Now go get your first chicken.
